To show the locations of the state (current and historic) and village capitals of Chuuk Lagoon.
This dataset shows the locations of the Chuuk State capital Weno, the historic capital Tonoas, and the capital villages of the individual municipalities in Chuuk Lagoon. The data layer was created by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi) (2020) from information contributed by informants from different municipalities.

The dataset is included in the Digital Atlas of Micronesia, module Chuuk, by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi) in collaboration with Water and Environmental Research Institute of the Western Pacific (WERI) at the University of Guam and funding from United States Geological Survey (USGS) under WRRI 104-B Program and FSM Department of Environment, Climate Change & Emergency Management (DECEM).

The dataset is believed to be complete at the time of creation. However, offices (especially smaller organizations) do move and locations may have to be updated.
