This map shows the locations of lighthouses in Chuuk State. It includes two locations in Chuuk Lagoon and one in Puluwat Atoll. The dataset was created by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi) (2023) by manually digitizing 2013-14 WorldView-2 satellite imagery from Maxar, formerly DigitalGlobe, provided by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) – Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
This map shows the locations of wrecked and abandoned vessels in Chuuk State, including ships that ran aground on the reef surrounding Chuuk Lagoon and the reefs of atolls in the Outer Islands. The dataset was created by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi) (2023) using a combination of field-collected information and observations using Google Maps and other imagery. It should be noted that this layer is not comprehensive and more data points will be included as information becomes available.
