This map shows the road network on Pohnpei. It includes major roads as well as smaller paved and unpaved roads. The dataset was originally created by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) (2001) for Digital Line Graphs (DLGs) used to show information on 1:25,000-scale topographic maps. It has been modified to reflect changes and add street names of selected roads throughout the years and using various sources including Kolonia Town Government, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and Pohnpei State Government - Department of Land and Natural Resources (2013). A major update was performed by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi) (2017) to reflect changes based on 2016 WorldView-3 satellite imagery by Digital Globe. The attribute information (name and type of road) has not been updated recently.
